Meet Dr. Israel
Dr. Julia Israel, DVM
Dr. Julia Israel is a dedicated veterinarian whose passion for animal care spans both small animals and equines. A 2018 graduate of PUC Minas University in Brazil, Dr. Israel pursued an internship in equine medicine at the University of Lyon in France (2019-2020), where she quickly learned French to seize the opportunity. She furthered her expertise with a Master’s Degree in Cardiorespiratory Physiology from the University of Calgary (2020-2022) and completed her Canadian diploma validation in 2024. Dr. Israel now works as a general practitioner, providing compassionate care to her patients in Canada.
Emergency medicine holds a special place in her heart, as she thrives on making a meaningful difference for animals and their owners during critical moments. While Dr. Israel cherishes dogs, cats, and horses equally, she dreams of experiencing life as a bird, embracing the freedom and adventure of exploring new places.
When she’s not working, Dr. Israel finds joy in hiking snowy trails in Banff with her beloved dog, Bento, and balancing her active lifestyle with gym sessions, dance classes, Muay Thai, and camping adventures. She also loves spending time with her family, partner, and pets.
A food lover at heart, her favorite dishes include butter chicken, salmon, and shawarma. Inspired by the wisdom of Bob Proctor, she lives by his empowering words: “The only thing that stands between you and your dream is the will to try and the belief that it is actually possible.”
A fun fact about Dr. Israel? She learned French in just seven weeks before embarking on her internship in France—a testament to her determination and adventurous spirit, traits that continue to define her life and career.
